It surrounds me on every side.
Try to make it to my feet to stand again,
But the whirlwind keeps me down.
I spend the lonely days making time,
The lonely nights trying to sleep.
It’s hard when you wake up,
And you know there’s know one there.
There was a time I always had a friend,
By my side, in my car with me all the time.
Gone from me now a few years ago,
The loss would be greater then I’d know.
One new friend I have made,
The old one’s just fade away.
In everything I stand alone,
Facing these struggles on my own.
Someone for support instead an ear,
Hold me, love me and keep me near.
Stay these tears that are in my eyes,
And keep thoughts of loneliness at bay.
Where is he not here but so far away,
Will you come back and sit by my side.
Will you come and be at home with me,
Or will you stay where you are now?
I have lost, I have lost, I have lost.
In the desperation of it all.
All I have left are my thoughts and my words.
