The Whirlwind

I had a dream.

Inside this dream was a whirlwind.

It surrounds but doesn’t touch me.

Centering in the eye it lifts my body,

And starts me floating at its the edge.

All chaos reigns inside the whirlwind.

It is black with many shades of gray.

After several circuits I see images.

Distorted and unclear here with me,

As I float circuits within my dream.

Suddenly, some-thing reaches out,

Grabs my arm and pulls me into the

chaotic whirlwind.

Nothing can stop me being pulled in.

First, an arm with one leg are inside,

And now my body is drawn into it.

Flailing at air and struggling to no avail,

I’m pulled completely into my whirlwind.

Still flailing and floating but the pull, gone.

But now my body cannot move,

And all that surrounds me is calm.

No chaos of black and gray reigns inside,

A serenity with a warmth of colors,

Has replaced the chaotic whirlwind.

Some-thing has given me a gentle push,

And now am set adrift in this my dream.

Drifting through shades of warm colors,

The aroma of the colors fill my senses.

During my drifting, I did not notice,

Being turned to the edge of my dream.

Looking out to where I had come from,

There is nothing but unfathomable chaos.

Worse when I looked into the whirlwind.

Now, I felt another gentle push as before,

But now I was pushed towards the edge.

Closing my eyes I await the enviable chaos.

Opening my eyes I find myself standing,

Again in the center of the whirlwind.

All is calm here but chaos reigns inside.

So, closing my eyes to sleep and dream,

Only to wake up.
