In Memory of Les Paul

I read today that the Legendary Les Paul passed away. He had his 94th birthday on June 9th.

I posted these verses already. But thought it befitting, in Les Paul's honor, to re-post it.

Rockn’ at Heavens Gates

Was gettin' ready soon it'd be time,

Be standing in front of these gates.

No worry for me or concerns.

Made my peace, settled those debts,

Got everything squared ready to get.

Play my last song for all my friends

Ain't stoppin' me from dem gates.

Oh sure fell and was bad a few times,

But wasn't nothin' compared to some.

A last shot of whiskey then lay me down,

Peaceful, restful bliss of final dreams.

Woke up there's the light, headin' to it,

The last walk before a lastin' reward.

on the road to beauty with it's wonders,

Then standin' before me Heaven's Gates.

Couldn't seem to grasp, they were closed,

Seein' someone there I walked on ov'r.

Sayn', lemme in done paid the dues,

Wanna start playn' my best for you.

I'll play for all showin' you my worth,

Know it'll rock play till the hearts content.

I'm guitar in hand before all to hear.
