Just-a-Talk

There is a lot going on in the Middle East. In particular with the United States of America. I could go on and talk about how America is involved in to many places. Or the people there are getting a little tired of their own government. Someday the people of the Middle East Countries will all have their day. There will be an upheaval unlike the world has not seen. Followed by reorganization, in fighting, out fighting and more change. Eventually what the world will see. Is a coming together as Europe did. Born out of the conflict and differences a United Middle East will raise. This is talk for another time.

I have been thinking about Iran. Just a short while ago America was focused on that nation. As usual the Republican Party was saying not enough was being done. Or that America should invade Iran. (That's what they're saying now about Libya). Some political organization, usual right wing conservatives, always complain.

A Note On the Letter to President Rowhani

President Obama’s letter to recently elected President Hasan Rowhani of Iran is a step in the right direction.

Since the Iran revolution and the seizure of the American Embassy in 1979. The U.S. froze $12 billion in Iranian assets. (Gave some $10 billion back for release of U.S. personnel. Held by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard). Restrictions on commercial ventures. With sanctions on food purchases, spare parts, medical products and the purchasing by Americans of carpet and food, pistachios. Total economic sanctions starting in 1995 by President Clinton. Then a bill by Congress (Iran/Libya Sanctions) in 1996. To make all this worse. Each time the U.S. and Iran would try to sit down and open discussion or negotiate. The U.S. always tagged condition on any talks.

Perhaps now there will be a thawing of relations between the U.S. and Iran.

I for one would welcome such a change in our foreign policy. Iran has much to offer besides carpets and pistachios.

Now if the U.S. can only get over Cuba.

That’s what I have to say and sticking to it.

In My Life Time

I woke up this morning in good spirits. Made three slices of cinnamon toast and a cup of real coffee. That’s the stuff with caffeine in it. Sat down and opened up the new National Geographic.

Now I am so depressed, it’s taken me a little time to type this. Because thinking about what was read, brings on a powerful emotion too cry.
What was it I read which is making me depressed you may ask. The National Geographic December 2011 article, How We Can Save Wild Tigers.
I would quote the estimates but I just can’t go back into the article. Though I did do a search on the world tiger population. It averages out to 4,000 tigers left in the wild. India’s tiger population is up 16%.
Even with the Indian population. Still the 4,000 number is very low. Thus the title of my Blog. In My Life Time I may see my most favorite animal on the planet go extinct.
That’s it. This is all I am able to write on this subject.

The Senselessness Of It All اللاعقلانية من كل شيء

The wars we, as in the people of this planet, fight with one another. Are akin to a vicious circle. As soon as we are finished with one. We're out to find the next. Always looking for that next trouble maker or aggressor. It's sicking the way we slaughter ourselves. And for what? Land? Resources? Politics? Or the big one, Religion! Of course the latter is always in the name of God. Actually we can't even have a war. Unless we give invoke help from God. To smite our enemies and help use through these trying times.

So with god on our side we maim, kill, commit genocide and occupy. Set up a government that gets so entrenched. Their unable to leave for all the corruption. Billion of Dollars, Euros, gold and other resources. Go into hands to grease so many palms. People that get the money cannot let the system end.

All this time protests go on. For what! If the system of government isn't like ours. People are gunned down in the street. Or taken by 'death squads'. Not to be seen or heard again.

For persons or countries not seeking to be war like. They just get sucked right in. Depending on their relative border to any conflict or war.

The biggest problem I see with these wars, conflicts, police action or whatever! It's the vicious circle syndrome. Starting in some obscured part of the planet. Infiltrating down into all corners of society. Which ends up being toys, arguments, take a side, gangs, race violence and just generally fighting amongst ourselves.

For what!
'Ideology'!
'Geopolitical' gain!
God and country!

No. For greed. Greed for possession of power. Then the consolidation of that power.

I think about it and my conclusion is.

A BIG FUCKEN WASTE OF LIVES!

I do apologize. I tend to rant.

BUT THAT'S WHAT I HAVE TO SAY ON THAT SUBJECT!!!

These are my thoughts into words. And I'm sticking by 'em!

Are We...?

It takes a lot this life of ours. We don't know what exactly in store for us. From one day to the next. Minute by minute actually!
For the most part of this population. We are well informed. Or at least we'd like to think that. Something like the sunrise. We know it's going to be there the next day.
So we come complacent.
Just going about the business of that day. Some thinking ahead. Others only concerned with now. It's a, if I may, "do the do" day. Every day. All week. Each month. Year after year. All of us concerned with one overriding factor. To do the do's that need doing. It is an effect we can not side step.
Oh sure. Some have do the do's for them. But each and every being on the planet knows. "If you want something done. You better do it yourself. Our it just may not get done. Or done correctly".
To which brings me, and again if I may, "
The crux of the biscuit
is the Apostrophe(')". When was the last time you just stopped to smell a rose, sit in the shade of a tree on a green lawn or sat just to listen to nature.
We all get rolled up in what ever it each of does. it can and does get stressful at times. But 99% of our stress is self induced. Either consciously or subconsciously.
So take the time. Relax. Shoot the breeze with someone. Gee and who knows. We all just may be slightly better for doing this.
Just tossing it out there. Like, "let's run it up the flag pole", type of toss.

A great day to all.

As I Understand It

From what I've been reading and hearing. There is going to be a general election sometime this fall. For the Palestinian people this should be a big deal. Apparently Hamas, who control the Gaza Strip. Say the Gaza Strip will not vote. They further say any vote without the Gaza Strip would be invalid. This is very true indeed.

What I really believe to be Hamas' motive. Their afraid of losing power. By being voted out.

It seems logical to me. Although Hamas an the Fatah Don't and haven't liked each other from day one.
So the next logical step. Would be to divide. The West Bank to the Fatah. The Gaza Strip to Hamas.

I see that as folly. the Palestinian people must remain as one. The bickering between the two parties must also stop.  And both need to concentrate on a better standard or living for the people.

It's not about you! Get that through your thick skulls. No matter who wins. Or who loses. It is the people which tend to lose the most.

That's what I have to say on that!

Free Will

We all live our lives according to free will. Free will is endowed in each of us at birth. It is free will which makes all our decisions Whether you believe this or not is your choice. (Free will at work). In this it also leads us to make decisions that turn out to be bad ones.
I have made a number of decisions that turned out to be bad ones. None however that have shamed me in such a way. That I have been rethinking the direction that I am taking.

I want to stay this course because I am only what I am, Sheilah. I have always been her. I always will be her
But there are times when I know I can not bring the shame upon her.
Free will, it is in all of us. It is in me as well.

There is but one true right. This right can not be taken from us. Not in any way.
I'm talking about 'free will'. Endowed in us from the beginning of our time.
How we use this 'free will' is our 'choice'. Choice another benefit of 'free will'.
We have the 'choice' of how we use our undeniable right. If you need an example. Just read up a daily newspaper.
Seems to me the biggest use of 'choice' through 'free will'. Is control. Specifically, control over other peoples 'free will'.
Let's face facts. Control a person or a group of people. Then you control how they chose to use their 'free will'.
A big abuser of this control are governments. By use of censorship and other often brutal means.
The biggest abuser that history has know. Is organized religion. Today, in our time, they are still the biggest. Controlling people by subverting 'Holy Scripture'.
Two major religions in our world. Control over 2 billion people. The Catholic Church alone has 750 million parishioners. Islam 1 billion give praise to Allah.
Can you imagine the control? Religion is the primary cause. Of the state of unrest today. To think, it all started with the Catholic Church. A millennium And a half ago. When it was decide for us. That progress was bad. So for over 900 years. The sheep that we were then. Followed along blindly.
It all comes down to 1 single person. Making decisions for the masses.
That is why I refuse to subscribe to, or associate myself with any type of organized religion.
And it all was to do with ‘free will’ & the control of ‘choice’. But I thing I've bored you enough.
The point of all this rant. Be care full. Find for yourself the different between 'truth' & 'evil'. There are more purveyors of evil in the world today. Then at any time in the history of our planet.
Do not allow your 'free will' & 'choice' to be perverted by another. It's yours. It belongs to you. Use them both wisely.
Free Will. Isn’t it great!

Israel vs. the Palestinian People vs Israel

I hear and read and see much about Israel. What should do, not do and indifference. Hamas fighting and throwing rockets. Israeli retaliates. By blockading their ports, fencing off the Gaza Strip and restricting movement.
What I don’t hear or see much about is Hamas. Oh yeah you hear all the “bad” stuff . Hear about how poor they are. Can’t eat, electricity going brown or out. Poor civil services and no medical supplies to treat people. Which are injured by retaliation.
Oh wait! What was that I typed in the beginning. Something about throwing, rockets and Hamas. Yea I remember. Hamas throwing rockets over the border at Israel.
If the idiots that run the government for the Palestinian people have money for R.P.G.’s and other war material. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out. That they would be better off. To cut way down on purchasing war
weapons. Start using that money, however little or however much, they get or have for basic services.

This kind of madness to let the people suffer. Just because of hate. What kind of sense does that make.
As soon as the Palestinian people received the Gaza Strip and West Bank. Somebody should have said, hey I have an idea. Let’s put a moratorium on the hate. Then go to work and build us a nation.

WOW! Now there’s a thought.
Ya’ Think?

Yes I know about Yasser Arafat. How he had managed to rip-off billions of dollars. That was to go to helping the Palestinian people.
These People were living as refugees. In abject poverty. So how far have they come?
Well from what I can gather. They have come a long way. (Sarcastically expressed
)
There still living in abject poverty. They are refugees in their own country.  Still!
The Hamas in January/2006 won a decisive majority in the Palestine parliamentary elections. Which of course caused slight conflict with the Fatah. Who were, up to the elections, the controlling party in the parliament. Fatah commanders refused to take orders from Hamas.
Well okay. That’s all in-fighting past history.

So. I gotta ask the question. What has Hamas done for the Palestinian people and Palestine (yes I typed Palestine and meant what I typed) lately?
Sure I could do a search and find out. Which I may need to do. Cause I’m not sure on who reads my Blog. I do. So me counts as one person that reads this Blog.

What I would like to Blog and/or type out is.
The cost Hamas spends for the Qassam rocket.
Cost to Hamas for Gaza Strip wars. And if the money for both of the above. Could be better well spent.
Just who is living up to the Oslo Agreement
The Hamas-Fatah Conflict. (I’m sure hotter heads will prevail there).
1st, 2nd and 3rd Intifada. Cost, who benefits and is it money really well spent. When there’s abject poverty on your own door steps.
And perhaps the $1.8 billion or for the Euro fans.  13,250,394,000. (Hope I’m correct on that).  That went into Yasser Arafat’s private account.
That last one’s a maybe. See how much research I’ll have to do.

Till next time.
“Bang your head. Don’t let go”
Tell me what Rock group sang that?
